Patient Leakage

Healthcare organizations have many strategic priorities. So many, in fact, that it can be difficult to prioritize tasks appropriately. One of the key areas they need to focus more on, but which often falls through the cracks, is patient leakage.

That’s according to a report from SGP and Fibroblast, which was based on a survey of 104 healthcare executives. The survey findings reveal that a significant portion of hospital and health system revenue is being lost to leakage, perhaps unnecessarily.

Additionally, the survey findings show that leakage can impact quality care: Most survey respondents reported that they do not know whether a patient actually follows through with the recommended care plan.
