Eduardo (Alex) Eschenbach is a current MBA Candidate at the Johns Hopkins Carey Business School. He just returned from a summer in the San Francisco Bay Area where he was a graduate intern for the CEO of a Sutter Health affiliate hospital, Eden Medical Center. Previously, he studied at The University of Texas- Austin, where he obtained his Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology and immunology. In addition, he also studied the French language to complement his fluency in Spanish.
Before deciding to pursue his MBA degree, Alex became a Software Training Specialist for the electronic medical record company eClinicalWorks, where he helped medical practices by evaluating and establishing medical office workflows while training them in the EMR software. In 2013, Alex became a science teacher, and subsequently principal, of a small high school in a small town in the highlands of Guatemala called Panajachel.
Today he remains on the Board of Directors of this non-profit high school and as well as a non-profit foundation that aims to improve the education of Guatemalan high school students. He is an avid board game and reading enthusiast with a passion for basketball, golf, cross fit, and learning.
