Maryland’s largest FQHC turns to SGP for grant writing and sustainability and growth planning
Baltimore, MD – January 3, 2016 · Sage Growth Partners (SGP), a Baltimore-based healthcare consulting, technology, and marketing firm today announced it has been retained by Baltimore Medical System (BMS) to research and develop two documents, the Service Area Competition (SAC) grant application and the Community Health Needs Assessment (CHNA), both critical to the sustainability and growth of the organization.
The Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA) will award approximately $1.2 billion in funding to an estimated 456 SAC applicants in 2016. The highly competitive SAC application is a critical source of financial support for this Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that has served the Baltimore area for more than 30 years.
Secondly, the CHNA document, also required under HRSA, serves as an evidence-based, strategic tool to assist BMS and healthcare providers around the country in improving the health of the communities they serve.
“We are pleased BMS has chosen our team of multi-disciplinary talent to help with the development of these critical documents,” said Christopher DeMarco PhD, Vice President, Research and Planning for SGP. “The research, detailed analysis, formulation of ideas, and strategic planning culminating in the delivery of final documents are crucial elements for the continued success of BMS.”
For more than three decades, BMS has been recognized in the Baltimore regional area and within the Health Center community as a leader in successfully advocating for and providing access to primary medical and health services for tens of thousands of Marylanders.
The BMS Board and senior management are committed to assuring sustainability and growth in continuing to meet Baltimore’s unmet health needs,” said Shirley Sutton, President and CEO of BMS. “We have worked with SGP in the past; and they have proven their knowledge and understanding of what healthcare from BMS means to Baltimore’s communities. With their help, we feel better positioned to continue our long-standing mission while considering actions and new program ventures that will be essential to our future.”
