Healthcare Consulting Veteran Brings Well-Honed Skills As Researcher and Problem-Solver
Baltimore, MD – May 7, 2012 Sage Growth Partners, a Baltimore-based healthcare consulting, technology, and marketing firm, today announced the appointment of Chris DeMarco, Ph.D. as Vice President of Research and Planning.
DeMarco joined SGP as a Principal in 2010, and has worked with clients on a wide variety of information technology, grant writing, research, marketing, and business planning initiatives.
In this new role, Dr. DeMarco will direct the firm’s industry and client-specific research and planning activities. “Chris provides a rare combination of scientific, healthcare, and business experience,” said Sage Growth CEO Don McDaniel. “He has a deep understanding of the roles that healthcare providers, administrators, and overseers play. As a as a social scientist, he can integrate science and business discipline in the development of practical and innovative solutions for our clients’ problems.”
Prior to joining Sage, DeMarco worked in health care for 15 years, specializing in Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) and Community Health Centers (CHCs). In his work, he advised start-up organizations and programs in funding acquisition, organizational structure, and organizational outcome measurement. His work included Electronic Health Record (EHR) system selection, business plan development, strategic planning, data analysis, quality improvement, risk management, compliance, leadership, and grant writing. In the last four years, his grant writing efforts netted more than $16 million in awards.
A Baltimore native, DeMarco holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Social Science (Social Psychology) from the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs at Syracuse University and a B.A. from Bucknell University. He also holds an M.B.A. in Business of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University Carey School of Business. He received a Graduate Certificate in Business of Medicine in 2010.
