Capitation or Bundling: There’s Much More to the Story

While both sets of authors made terrific cases for capitation and bundled payments to best serve the goals of reining in healthcare costs and improving outcomes, it’s not a binary choice. Each payment model can provide the right incentives to different stakeholders on a care team, and they can work together to achieve the ultimate goals of payment reform.

Philips acquires Wellcentive for population health management
SGP was excited by the news that Philips was acquiring Wellcentive to expand its population health management business, starting in July. SGP has provided Wellcentive with marketing services over the last two years, including thought leadership, technical expertise, design support, and strategic deployment.
 
 
Baltimore-based FQHC taps Sage Growth for service area grant and community needs assessment work
Baltimore Medical Systems (BMS) recently secured the Service Area Competition (SAC) grant which allows them to maintain their FQHC status and operational funding. In addition to helping write the SAC grant, SGP developed a community health needs assessment (CHNA) for BMS.

SGP delivers CHNA to Kenosha Community Health
Following the closure of a community health center in Racine, WI, Kenosha acquired a grant from a local hospital to operate a mobile medical van, intending to close the care gap for that population. SGP partnered with Kenosha and its stakeholders to develop a community health needs assessment, identifying the need for continued services and access to care for potential patients in and around the city of Racine.
