Katy honed the art of staying calm when a bear attacked her tent overnight on a Virginia camping trip.

Katy Gathright lives in the epicenter of all things regulatory and compliance – Capitol Hill – making her personal life the perfect intersection of her professional life.
She enjoys working in healthcare most when it comes to learning about people and processes that assist others. “I think the best moments are when you see people working backwards from the question of how to help others, whether the approach is clinical or developing technology or supporting legislation,” she says.
Katy has worked in marketing and communications for more than a decade at agency, in-house corporate, and nonprofit settings. Her agency experience included managing digital advertising and content programs for a coalition that supports the Affordable Care Act, as well as Bloomberg Philanthropies and Uber. Katy’s other work as a marketing director at an employee wellness company specializing in biometric screenings and health coaching gave her plenty of experience in the shoes of the kinds of professionals who she often intersects with as an account director at Sage. A master’s of fine arts in creative writing gives Katy perspective on how to craft technical content so that it’s approachable and has flair.
In her spare time, she enjoys reading, cooking, and the outdoors. When she’s not hiking with her husband, she can be found walking her dog.
