Sage Growth Partners (SGP) conducted a survey of single and multi-specialty physician organizations to assess their perspectives on value-based payment models, including MIPS, and the impact value-based payment models have on their propensity to tie physician performance to compensation.
As value-based payment models continue to evolve, independent physician organizations are looking for ways to remain independent; one way is to embrace value-based payment models to ensure financial viability of the practice. We talked about this in greater detail last year in the article, “How to Thrive in the New PCP Marketplace.”
In this study, SGP explores how large physician groups are progressing with value-based payment models and how they look to participate in the future. Additionally, with specific focus on MIPS, we sought insights into how ready independent physician groups feel they are with this Medicare program.
Finally, this survey assessed how large, independent physician organizations evaluate physician performance and use it as a level for gaining physician engagement and adoption of value-based payment models.
